Virtual classes are now available for cat owners who want to make veterinary, grooming or physiotherapy procedures less stressful for their cat companions.

Our training methods are designed to foster cooperation in cats during healthcare procedures, benefiting the cats, their owners, and the veterinary team. This approach significantly reduces stress for all involved, creating a more harmonious home life and effective care environment.

What is Cooperative Care?

Cooperative care refers to the process of training a pet to be comfortable with handling and husbandry procedures, and willingly participate in such experiences. This approach is ideal for pet owners who find it difficult to trim their cat’s nails, if their cat hides at the sight of a carrier, or if they have given up on administering medication to their pet due to biting and scratching.

The training covered in this two-week program includes:

Carrier training

  • Voluntary carrier training
  • Giving all types of medication
  • Using topical spot-on
  • Syringe/Injection administration
  • Wearing a cat muzzle for grooming procedures
  • Voluntary nail clipping
  • Stepping on/off weight scales
  • Administration of ear and eye drops/ointments
  • Towel wrapping/restraint
  • Crate training
  • Teeth brushing
  • Mat/stationing training
  • Getting ready for physiotherapy procedures (massage, laser, acupuncture, hydrotherapy).
